About Trust and Xena

Trust and Xena are the first F1 pair (first generation hatched in captivity) to produce and parent-rear offspring at The Blues Conservatory. In both 2002 and 2003, they hatched two chicks but were only able to parent-rear one each time.

They are now participating in the breeding program of Cincinnattie Zoo.

Trust is a first generation offspring of Founder Pair #3 (Bogie and Bacall). He hatched Aug. 19, 1994, while the pair was in California. The owners at that time allowed the pair to parent-rear Trust for an un-determined period of time. Trust joined us June 6, 1996. After quarantine, he was flocked for a while. Several months after the death of the male member of Founder Pair #1 (Ira and Eureka), Trust was moved in with Eureka. He remained with the wild-caught female from August 1998 until January 2000 when they became incompatible. He moved back into the flock and immediately paired off with Xena, the daughter of Ira and Eureka.

Xena the Warrior Princess was raised by Founder Pair #1 (Ira and Eureka). She hatched June 3, 1997 and along with clutchmate Dicha remained as a family unit for almost a year.
