During the AFA convention,
ticket sales were brisk
for BE's annual raffle

Arizona Seed Cracker friend Mary Dunbabin waits to buy tickets while Stephen and Wendy Crane of Washington busily fill out some of the many tickets they bought.

Colleen Hazel of Maryland has been a BE enthusiast for many years.

Vendor hall neighbor Ed Singh couldn't resist taking a chance for our great raffle items.

Tickets for each prize were dumped into the Waterford bowl and stirred vigorously by Arlene Powers.

Young aviculturist Spencer Wheeler (son of Kelly) of Washington executed a backward-blind-draw for each lucky ticket which he then handed to Laney Rickman to announce and record the winner.

THANK YOU
for participating in our 2007 AFA Raffle.

To the lucky winners, we say congratulations.
And to those who didn't take home a prize,
you are still winners to us for helping BE in
Saving the Blues.

Wendy and Stephen Crane of Washington bought the most raffle tickets and Diane Bock presents Wendy with the Bonus Prize package for doing so. The big purchases paid off for Stephen and Wendy when they won $1,200 worth of Jungle Toys for a year (one shipment of $200 worth every two months, postage paid). Jungle Toys owner Mike Keens will select toys that are size appropriate for their birds.

Marshall Liger of South Carolina won the beautiful, framed original art of a Red-fronted Macaw rendered by Tony Sanchez in colored pencil. He was busy working the convention and had friend Brent Gattis pick up the prize for him.

Nora Schmidt (left) of Nevada first won the Double Yellow Head Amazon -- by Tony Sanchez in colored pencil -- and immediately gave it to her Amazon-loving friend Pat Chinnici (right), also of Nevada. Before the drawing was over, however, Nora had also won the Arlene Powers watercolor of "Rhapsody in Pink."

Jim and Ginger Payant of Utah won Arlene Powers' original water color of the "icy Miss Etta James" (she was a chick in the nest box when an unusual ice storm hit The Blues Conservatory in January of 2007).

Even though unable to attend the convention, Jim and Ginger made the second largest purchase of raffle tickets and it really paid off. They also won (below) the Canon Power Shot SD700 IS Digital Camera and Canon Pixma Mini 260Photo Printer, which prints directly from the camera.

Past AFA President Benny Gallaway's lovely wife Nancy won the beautiful 12-inch Lismore "Statement Bowl" from Waterford Crystal.

Carol Cipriano of Pennsylvania won a very nice pillow from England with an non-aviculturist's lament embroidered across its linen face.

Madeleine Franco of Nevada won a last-minute addition to our raffle line-up. The playstand was donated by Jungle Toys owner Mike Keens as we were setting up BE's booth in the vendor hall.
